Twelve members of the Algonquin communities around Val-d’or, a mining town in Western Quebec, have brought forth allegations of abuse by local police.
In Quebec, shocking allegations of police abuse against indigenous people came to light.
Twelve First Nations people from the area, mostly women, say they were sexually assaulted by police or given money or drugs in exchange for sex acts.
